Our client builds systems deployed everywhere from Europe to New Zealand, the largest of which is responsible for fuel distribution at dozens of airports and hundreds of road transport facilities across Australia. You will be working in the European timezone with other engineers based in the EU however you will be interfacing regularly with Australian counterparts. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join the Polish team through a transitional period of growth. You will be pivotal in guiding engineering and business teams through this period of change and owning projects through to completion. This role requires a mix of technical prowess, communication skills, and leadership abilities. You will be working closely with remote engineering teams, Australia based managers and leadership team to define project scope, goals, and deliverables, while building a sustainable culture of delivery.

As a TPM, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects/programs and be equally comfortable working with senior managers to clarify priorities, working with teams to communicate project/program status, escalate issues and manage dependencies, as you are discussing technical trade-offs with engineers.

You will develop and manage detailed project plans, monitor progress, and communicate status updates to stakeholders. Your technical expertise will be crucial in facilitating technical discussions and decision-making processes, ensuring alignment with project objectives. Your role is not only to manage but also to inspire, motivate, and lead by example, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Your goal is to drive efficiency and effectiveness in our software development processes, delivering high-quality software solutions that meet our business and customer’s needs.

Your main tasks:

  • Oversee the successful execution of software development projects from inception to deployment
  • Monitor and track delivery status across multiple teams and projects, identify and mitigate risks, and communicate status to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with various teams, including software engineers, business managers, and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables, including the creation and refinement of user stories
  • Ensure an appropriate degree of consistency in planning, documentation, and core practices across teams to ensure meaningful velocity and promote our ability to scale
  • Facilitate technical discussions and decision-making processes, ensuring alignment with project and business objectives
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving efficiency and effectiveness in our software development processes

Our requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years TPM experience
  • 10+ years working in an Agile software delivery model and a deep understanding of the SDLC
  • Minimum 3 years software development experience (essential)
  • Experience working with the onshore/offshore delivery model
  • Experience transitioning teams from waterfall to Agile
  • A strong understanding of technical concepts, programming languages (Python, Go), and software development processes is crucial. As well as experience with AWS
  • Comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to think strategically but also to focus on the deliveriesof the teams
