Most of their business is in the US right now (that is why they have over 500 tech people on board there). They have offices in China, Japan, UK, Italy, Germany and right now in Krakow, Poland.
You will be:
- Responsible for SQL Server Software installation and upgrades.
- Performs application security configuration and administration.
- Performs logical database design and physical database implementation.
- Actively engaged in Modernizing Enterprise Data Services leveraging of Cloud Infrastructure
- Is instrumental in SQL Server database creation, monitoring and performance tuning.
- Is responsible for application/SQL troubleshooting and tuning.
- Develops and implements Backup and Recovery Strategies.
- Reviews SQL code and database object designs against standards and best practices.
- Performs database administration with Automation and scripting as a goal.
- Plays an active technical role in the planning phase of new projects.
- Works closely with customers to determine their strategic business requirements and measures system performance against expectations.
- Supports production systems, as required, by optimizing performance, helping resolve problems, and providing timely follow-up on problem reports.
- Will serve as technical lead on projects.
- Coordinates implementation activities with other parts of the enterprise.
- Participates in presentations to senior leadership.
- Assists IT peers and junior engineers in technical issue resolution.
- Participates in on-call duty 24/7 pager rotation.
What You Bring
- Must possess practical Windows OS experience.
- Must demonstrate skills in the following areas: RDMS Software and Tools Installation, Configuration Management, Security Administration, Monitoring and Tuning, Backup and Recovery, Troubleshooting and Efficient use of database storage.
- Must have regular experience administering moderate to large databases
- Must possess the ability to work independently and in Team settings.
- History of collaborating with Application Development Teams.
- 2-3 years of SQL Server Database Administration.
- 2-3 years of T-SQL.
- 2-3 years of Backup and Recovery.
- 2-3 years Highly Available Performance Tuning.
- Experience in Troubleshooting / Problem Solving Skills.
- Performance Tending and Communication.
- Ability to establish a high level of Management and Client trust.
