About the role:
Our client is looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to join their Payments team. The team is building a modern, internal payments platform from scratch, aiming to improve and future-proof payment operations across the business.
You’ll work on technically challenging projects in a collaborative environment, focusing on back-end systems, infrastructure, databases, and distributed architectures. The role offers autonomy, ownership, and the chance to contribute ideas that make systems faster, smarter, and more secure, all while delivering real business impact.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver reliable, scalable software solutions.
- Develop and maintain microservices using Spring Boot, owning them from development to deployment.
- Manage cloud-native deployments, ensuring system performance, stability, and security.
- Promote engineering best practices, including clean code, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Mentor and support team members, sharing knowledge and guiding technical decisions.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years Java experience building production-ready applications.
- Strong knowledge of microservices and Spring Boot.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and cloud environments (AWS/Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with REST/gRPC APIs, messaging systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid testing practices and ability to work in an international team.
Nice to have:
- Fintech experience, real-time streaming (Kafka), or cloud-native app design knowledge.
