About the role:
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join the team in delivering high-quality software solutions. This role involves participation in the complete software development lifecycle—from initial design and prototyping to implementation and testing. The engineer will contribute to both new product development and the enhancement of existing systems, ensuring functionality, performance, and maintainability. Clear documentation and collaboration across teams are also key components of the role.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement software features and solutions from concept through delivery.
- Collaborate in the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, architecture, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including diagrams, flowcharts, and models to support code clarity and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and system issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Execute and support system integration and functional testing procedures.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, contributing to user story refinement and meeting acceptance criteria.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members in a technical leadership capacity.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5–7 years of professional experience in a software engineering or IT setting (a relevant advanced degree may substitute for part of the experience).
- Proven experience in designing and deploying complete cloud-based solutions, ideally within Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and working knowledge of Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Proficiency in backend development using Java or the Spring Boot framework.
- Experience building and consuming APIs (REST/JSON, SOAP) and web services.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and strong skills in writing SQL queries (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in Agile development teams.
- Self-motivated with a desire to continually learn and experiment with new technologies.
- Previous experience in a role with technical oversight or leadership responsibilities is a strong plus.
