Position Overview:
Our client is a consulting company working for a leading global entertainment company specializing in interactive experiences for a diverse audience. As part of our ongoing expansion, we’re seeking dynamic professionals to join our team in tackling the technical challenges inherent in our industry.
As a Senior Java Developer, you’ll drive innovation and efficiency within our technology ecosystem. Collaborating with cross-functional teams from the USA, you’ll contribute to the development and optimization of our digital platforms, ensuring seamless user experiences and robust technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, code, and test applications in Java/Kotlin utilizing SpringBoot version 3.
- Craft design documentation, plan implementation strategies, and select suitable libraries.
- Work closely with your team (up to 5 engineers) and other multidisciplinary groups.
- Develop and oversee comprehensive RESTful APIs using SpringBoot.
- Conduct and run unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and take part in code reviews.
- Keep updated of the latest Java developments and industry best practices.
- Maintain build processes with Gradle.
- Create database schemas, write MySQL queries, and ensure data integrity.
- Periodically deploy project infrastructure using Terraform and internal tools.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of professional experience in the industry
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Excellent proficiency in Java programming language and associated frameworks (such as Spring)
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and build automation tools (e.g., Gradle)
- Capability to develop, improve, and sustain server-side applications
- Expertise in creating RESTful APIs and managing data formats like JSON/XML
- Proficient in working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and writing optimized queries
- Skilled in debugging, problem analysis, and implementing effective solutions
- Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit) and agile development practices
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
Desired Skills:
- Proficient in Kotlin (nice to have)
- Understanding of functional programming concepts
- Background in Cloud and Infrastructure solutions including Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, etc.
- Practical experience with Public Cloud services, particularly AWS
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog and New Relic
