Our client’s a Chicago/Krakow -based startup that provides cognitive data collection, predictive analytics, and data management solutions to Hedge Funds, Banks, and Energy companies. The company was founded in 2018. Its innovative technology provides easy-to-use high-quality data as the basic foundational requirement for our clients’ successful data science projects and business processes.

We are looking fo Devops Engineer to work within our organization to be responsible for the maintenance, improvement, design, and monitoring of core production services. Always on the lookout for scalability and automation, the Operations Engineering team is responsible for solid, reliable performance and quick responses to all operational issues. This role is responsible for selecting technology and introducing solutions that will guide and set up the team for long-term success. You will contribute to the success of the deployed production services.

Your responsibilities:

  • Cooperate with the Platform Engineering team on company-wide infrastructure projects
  • Participate in rotating on-call duties and respond to issues promptly
  • Improve the deployment process to make it more streamlined and reliable
  • Execute/contribute to disaster recovery drills and planning
  • Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack
  • Configure Security monitoring and react to alerts for the same
  • Own, maintain, and continuously improve all system monitoring, alerting, and dashboards
  • Deployment of releases to UAT, Production, and DR environments
  • Executing OS patching activity as per the patching policy
  • Research and implement changes to increase site reliability and help us operate more efficiently
  • Work in coordination with CISO office to execute security testing such as penetration testing
  • Help design and implement the tools and processes used for deployment and change management
  • Assist in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, anticipating performance bottlenecks

Our requirements:

  • Strong abilities with at least one and preferably both AWS and Azure cloud services
  • Experience with logging, monitoring, and dashboards
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Exposure to any programming language like Java/Groovy/Python/TypeScript
  • Previous operational responsibility for business-critical production systems
  • Strong understanding of Linux systems and networking concepts
  • Documented understanding of the value of great logging, proper monitoring, and error tracking
  • Strong problem-solving and analysis skills
  • Experience with change management/incident management and the associated tools
  • At least 3+ year of experience working with SQL or relational database
